Study Abroad in the Japanese Program

The Japanese program sponsors an annual summer study abroad program in Hamamatsu, Japan through the Office of International Education. Students apply their linguistic and cultural knowledge in an authentic setting and consolidate the progress they have previously made in the classroom. Participation in this program or another approved program is required of Japanese studies minors.

Students say of the program, “The combination of intensive language classes with small student/teacher ratios, all occurring in Japan while completely immersed in the culture, provide a thorough language and cultural education.”
